Week 2 looks mouthwatering and we’ve previewed the 2 games between the top 4 teams from last season.

Dream Team Vs JJGK – KO 7.30pm

Dream team are the double double champions but did not end season 2 as well as they would have liked, only picking up 4 points from their last 3 championship playoff games. Their only victory came against JJGK, where they avenged  defeat from earlier in the season, after player of season  Bobby Rizvi scored a stunning left footed strike into the top corner. sealing their 2nd championship title.

Dream Team look a more balanced team in season 3 with Captain Haseeb dropping back into defense and Tango regaining his position and dictating the game from midfield. They appeared to be at their fluid best when they beat MFC in Week 1 but they also showed great fight coming back from 2-1 down, with Bobby and Moeen both at their clinical best. They have an excellent team and are rightly the favourites for season 3.

Like Dream Team, JJGK also finished poorly by their standards, slipping to fourth in the league following defeats to Dream Team and Manchester’s FInest. They have not had much of a preseason but have made additions to their squad in order to give them more balance overall.

JJGK had to battle for their win against their local rivals FC Iraq last week, with the game being anything but a classic. It took a contentious penalty to determine the outcome with the game following a similar pattern to last season. JJGK did appear to be more organised led by Aqeel but will want to  get back to form quickly. Last season they struggled to get goals which they will want to rectify this year

The game between JJGK and Dream Team has always been intense.  JJGK showed last season that they have the players and attitude to win this fixture but it will be a very tough challenge against a resurgent  Dream Team. The title won’t be decided on Friday but both teams will want to make a statement.

Manchester’s Finest vs Marselona Ko 9 pm

The 2nd and 3rd placed teams from Season 2 separated only by goals scored! This game promises to be an open contest with both teams having an incisive passing style of play. Manchester’s FInest have arguably the best squad in the division and are currently undefeated in open play since their defeat to TSCI last season. They were unlucky in the cup losing to Dream Team on penalties. Like Dream Team they have a solid core of players with a few exceptional talents including Faz, Aky and Dawood. They look confident last week and swept aside a good unity team, sharing the goals out between the players. They look in the mood and are one of the favorites to win the league this season.

Marselona have made some more changes to their squad, losing Striker Ste Bro and Keeper Tom. Oyin has made some good signings in the form of Razzaq and Toky, both formerly of  TSCI. They started the season with a comfortable win against new team AFA. Razzaq fitted in well with Kyle still being the key man although he now has added help from another new acquisition Rob.

Manchester’s Finest have the better head to head record between these 2 teams and we know Marselona will want to put that right. Lets hope this game lives up to expectation because we are expecting a cracker!

We love the support so please feel free to come down and watch both these games! Keep following us on twitter and Facebook!

Lets hope its another great Friday of Ultim8 league!
